Early June and High Water
Early June on the Middle Fork is usually reserved for the slightly more adventurous of our guests. The receding snow pack this time of year high in the Central Idaho mountains causes the river to swell in its banks, offering an exciting but controlled ride through the river’s countless class III and IV rapids. Many clients choose to spend much of their high water trip in one of our smaller paddle boats, where each guest works as a part of a team to maneuver the boat, while the guide gives directions from the stern.
Early June trips are generally four or five day trips, your choice.
Early June weather can sometimes be variable in the Idaho Wilderness, MFWO provides wetsuits when needed. Upon booking a trip, along with other info, we will send you a guide on “what to wear” and how to be prepared for your wilderness experience.
Minimum age on High Water trips is 14.
