High water Middle Fork trips on the Salmon River are definitely for the more adventurous souls, especially this year as the snowpack in Central Idaho has reached record levels. Check out snow equivalent levels at https://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/snow/plot_SWE.php?id=BASI1 All of this runoff will afford paddling and rowing opportunities we haven’t seen for a few years, and here at MFWO, we can’t wait!!! Come join us for one of our early season trips and experience some of the best whitewater found anywhere in the world. This season we are offering a raft supported high water special specifically for our kayak clients, although it’s for experienced Class III/Class IV paddlers only. Here at MFWO your safety is our first concern so everything we do will be with your safety in mind. As on every other trip with MFWO, on a high water Middle trip you’ll be treated to an unparalleled camping and dining experience after a hard day of surfing waves and exploring play spots. Raft support allows you to paddle an empty boat or even bring a second one, if you choose. These trips are a bit shorter than our prime season trips making them perfect for those paddlers who are a bit limited, timewise. Trip dates are June 4th-7th (3 nights, 4 days – $990 per person) and June 13th-17th (4 nights, 5 days – $1,190 per person).

A high water Middle Fork trip takes you through the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness Area, https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/scnf/recreation/wateractivities/?cid=stelprdb5302694 when spring is just getting started and weather and water are still a bit chilly so make sure you are prepared for both. Of course, we are also planning on some beautiful early summer days with glorious sunshine and spectacular evenings around the campfire.
So give us a call, pack your gear, and join MFWO for a high water Middle Fork trip on Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon River!
